1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Scentrifuge website and your purchase of products from us. By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean SCENTRIFUGE (registration number K2026674646); “you” means the person using the site or placing an order; and “products” means the fragrance oils and related items we sell.

2. Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 18 years old (or have the permission of a parent or guardian) to buy from us. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Please give us accurate, current information and keep it up to date.

3. Our products — “inspired by”

Important: our fragrances are our own interpretations, inspired by well-known designer scents. They are described using “inspired by” comparisons only, purely to indicate the scent profile. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any of the original designer brands. All brand names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for descriptive comparison only. Our products are sold under our own Scentrifuge and Christian Marc names and are never presented as the genuine branded article.

4. Prices & promotions

All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. Our fragrances are a flat R280 each unless stated otherwise. We try to keep prices and product information accurate, but errors can occur. If we discover a pricing or description error on an order you’ve placed, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel.

Buy 2 Get 1 Free: we made it easy for you — all perfumes are the same price. You just choose your 3 favourites and you only pay for 2. When you add three or more qualifying fragrances to your cart, one item in each group of three is free. The discount applies automatically at checkout and works across our ranges (for example, mixing Christian Marc men’s and ladies’ fragrances). For every additional group of three, another free item applies. If items in your cart are ever priced differently, the free item is the lowest-priced one in that group. The promotion cannot be exchanged for cash and may be changed or withdrawn at any time; changes will not affect orders already placed.

5. Orders & acceptance

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. Your order is only accepted — and a contract of sale formed — when we dispatch your goods (or notify you of dispatch). Until then, we may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if payment is not received, or if there was an error. All products are subject to availability.

6. Payment

Payment is currently made by EFT / Direct Bank Transfer — our banking details are provided at checkout, and your order is processed once payment reflects. Online payment via Ozow will be available once it is live, supporting instant EFT, card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Ozow processes your payment securely and we do not receive or store your card details or banking login credentials.

7. Delivery

We deliver nationwide by courier. Delivery is a flat fee and is free on orders over R500. Orders are typically delivered within 2–4 working days after payment reflects, depending on your location. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk in and ownership of the goods pass to you on delivery to the address you provide. Please make sure your delivery details are correct.

8. Returns, refunds & cancellations

• ECTA cooling-off: under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, for online purchases you may cancel within 7 days of receiving the goods and return them for a refund of the price (you may be responsible for the cost of returning the goods), subject to the limits below.
• Consumer Protection Act (CPA 68 of 2008): you also have the rights the CPA gives consumers, including the right to goods that are of good quality, safe and in working order, and to return goods that are defective within the time the CPA allows.
• Hygiene & opened fragrances: for health and hygiene reasons, fragrance products that have been opened, used or had their seal broken cannot be returned unless they are faulty or not as described. This does not affect your rights in respect of defective goods.
• To arrange a return, exchange or cancellation, contact us with your order details and we’ll guide you through it.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including our logo, the Scentrifuge and Christian Marc names, text, product descriptions, images and layout — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse it without our written permission. Third-party designer brand names appear only for descriptive comparison and remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to misuse it — for example by attempting to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious code, scraping content, interfering with the site’s operation, or using it to break any law.

11. Limitation of liability & indemnity

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the site.

12. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We would like the chance to resolve any problem directly, so please contact us first. If a dispute cannot be resolved between us, it will be dealt with in the appropriate South African forum or court, without affecting any rights you have under the CPA to approach a consumer tribunal, ombud or the National Consumer Commission.

13. Severability & changes

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remain in force. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always posted on this page with its effective date, and applies to orders placed after it is posted.
